Welcome

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary was established by Congress in 1939 to assist the U.S. Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts more than 35,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Coast Guard Forces. Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks, safety patrols, search and rescue, maritime security and environmental protection and Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth. Auxiliarists volunteer more than 2 million hours annually to benefit other boaters and their families.

Wear your PFD We Do

You have it aboard now... Wear it!

It's common sense and for children it's the law.

Kids under 12 boating in Oregon waters are generally required to wear a properly sized Personal Flotation Device. In Washington similar rules apply for vessels under 19 feet.

For more information on our local requirements see the Oregon PFD Rules & the Washington PFD Rules.

In 2002 nine of  ten drowning victims were not wearing a PFD. Capsizings and falls overboard account for more than half of all recreational boating fatalities each year.

You don't know when you'll need it so... WEAR IT!
